District Honor Band

Wow what a great year we are having!  On Wednesday Tyler decided to go tryout for District Honor Band,  when he came out he was a little nervous about how he had done.  There were 7 trombone's there, and he was the only bass.

Well Thursday after school I got the following text from Ty:  "I MADE 4TH CHAIR TROMBONE"!!  He was so excited, he had made it as an 8th grader.  We are so proud of him, and all he has accomplished.

GOOD JOB TYLER!!!

Halloween has come and gone

We had a great day, Morgan earned a trip to the Weber State Game for school, we got her signed up for indoor soccer, and we had a great time at the Trunk or Treat last night.  The kids looked great!

Ty went as the quarterback from North Ogden that he sacked.

Autumn went as a Pumpkin Princess

Morgan went as a Goddess
We hope that all of you had a great Halloween as well.  Now to get ready for Thanksgiving!

Happy Halloween

Well the plan was for the family to do Alice in Wonerland this year for Halloween, but with all the costumes I was sewing for Morgan's play I didn't get a chance to work on our costumes.  We did get Mike's Mad Hatter done, so that is what he went as for work.

He got lots of looks, and compliments which was awesome!  As for tonight I will post pictures of what we all decided to go as, it's not a family theme, but they are good.  I'll post tomorrow.

The Emperor's New Clothes

Well the play has come and gone.  All the kids did a great job, and all the costumes turned out great.  Morgan did an awesome job on her solo.

Football has come to an end

Our football season has come to an end, we were hoping to have it last two more weeks, but unfortunatley it is not to be.  We finished our season 3-4, with the last game being a win and also Ty got his first quarterback sack (it also made him $50 richer - LOL).  We are so proud of how he did this year, and can't wait to see what he will be able to do next year.

For the time being we are now moving on to our first year of wrestling with Roy High School, and then indoor football.  Ty is also talking about trying out for track.  He really wants to stay in shape for football season next year.

Anyway we had a good season and the Grizzlies showed their pride in all they did.  GO GRIZZLIES!!!

2010 Rocky Mountain Grizzlies

Here are Ty's football pictures for this year.  They are 2-2, and need to win the next 3 games to make it to playoffs.  He has had fun so far, which is what counts.

No recreation football for us this year!

This year Ty decided that he didn't want to do recreation football, and that he was going to try out for the Jr. High football team.  He said if he made it great if not he would just concentrate on school and Hula, well.......

He made the team!!!

GO GRIZZLIES!!!!

Safety Patrol

Morgan made safety patrol for her class, she was one of 12.  She was so excited, as you can tell.  Her first day on duty it was raining so she bundeled up and did her job without complaint.  She is very excited to be in 6th grade and all the fun that comes with it.

How fast time flies!

Wow I can't blieve how fast our summer has gone.  We were kept busy with all of Ty's camps, that we didn't get much time to do any fishing, or camping.  We did get to use our season passes to Lagoon a few times which was nice.

School has once again started, Tyler is in the 8th grade, Morgan is in the 6th grade & Autumn is in the 4th grade this year.

Band Camp

Well Ty was invited to go to band camp this year.  He had a great time, and learned tons.  There were only three trombonist's there and he was the only bass trombone player there.  Here are a couple of pictures from the concert they had the last day.

Proud Mom & Dad

The kids have done so well in school this year and we have one more quarter.  The girls have done a tremendous job, and we are very proud of them.  Tyler has done exceptional for his first year of jr. high he has been on the high honor roll two quarters and honor roll this last quarter (3rd quarter was a hard one), and to our joy he has been asked to go to band and German camp, and received a surprise letter from the principal saying that his science teacher had nominated him to attend an accelerated learning camp for science.

These kids have excelled so much since moving to Utah, we are very proud of each of them!!!  WAY TO GO KIDS!

We have a teenager!!!

Ty turned thirteen on the 3rd.  I can't believe that it has been 13 years since he was a little bundle.  On Friday we took him and a friend to the movies and they went and saw Clash of the Titans while Mike and I went and saw Alice in Wonderland.  They absolutely love it.

Then on Sat. we went out to dinner with both sets of grandparent to celebrate Tyler & Grandpa Briggs birthday.  Then he got to take another friend to the evening egg hunt and then they came back home and played on the x-box for a while.

Ty got a dart board, a tent & a razor.  Yea he is shaving now!!!  Oh the joys of having a teenager.

No Pictures

Well because I neglected to check the battery on our camera we did not get any pictures from our first performance.  So sorry!  I will make sure that the battery is charged for the review on May 8th.

First Hula Performance

Well I have been sewing like a mad woman trying to get costumes done for the review in May.  I have knocked out about 85% of the costumes, which makes me feel really good.  We have our first performance tonight.  We are dancing at a friend's Relief Society birthday party.  It should be fun, I will post pictures tomorrow.

Happy Valentine's Day

We hope that everyone had a great valentine's day!  Spending it with the one's you love is always the best.  But remember that you do not need to just show them how much you love and appreciate them just this one day a year, show it often through out the year.

Love from all of us!

How time flys

I can't believe how fast time goes by.  I feel like we just got the kids in school and we are already half way through the year.  The kids are doing great, and loving being here in Utah.  They have several friends, and have adjusted really well.  Tyler has moved from the tenor trombone to the bass trombone, and has been asked to be in the honor & jazz band next year.  He is really excelling at it, and loves playing.  Morgan is doing so much better in school and is reading on a six grade level, when we left CA she was reading on a 2nd grade level.  She loves to read now.  Autumn is doing great in school as well and is working on passing off her times tables now.  She is getting ready to pass off 3's this week, and then we will move onto 4's.

I also can not believe that January has already come and gone and we are now into February.  It seems as I get older the faster time goes.

A trip to the ER

Well today we ended up at the Mckay Dee emergency room because while I was doing Autumn's hair she passed out and hit her head on the tile.  I thought she may have had a small seizure just before she fainted, so we ran her up to be checked out.  She had a CT scan, EKG scan, blood draw and was placed on a heart monitor while we were waiting for the results for all the tests. She was such a trooper we were very proud of her, she didn't even cry when they poked her for the blood.  They even gave her a copy of her EKG to take to her class tomorrow to show her class.

Everything checked out good.  We do have to keep an eye on her for future episodes.  Unfortunately she got that gene from her mom.  Yes you read right fainting spells can be caused by a gene in your body, I was suprised to learn that today.

As you can see Mike was very tired and board, as were Autumn and I.  They put us in a room with no t.v. for two and half hours.

We are just glad to be home and have her back to normal.

Autumn's party

We had Autumn's party on Saturday and all of her friends came and she had an absolute blast, and got all kinds of great gifts. Mike and I had fun making her cake for her and it turned out darling.

Autumn's Birthday

Today my little one turns 9. I can't believe it. It seems not only like we just baptized her, but like she was just born. I hope she has a wonderful day. Family dinner tomorrow night & friend party on Saturday.

Hula Craze

Autumn had been bugging me since we lived in Riverside, and she saw our bishop's family do some hula dancing. Well after we moved back to Utah we ran into one of my mom's very close friends, and I found out that she was still teaching hula (I use to take from her) well that is when Autumn declared that she just absolutely had to start taking. We got her enrolled and she absolutely loved it last year, and after sitting there at her review I decided that I was going to start back this year too. After football ended Tyler decided that he wanted to join in the fun too. Last night Mike started his class with one of friends. And now our Morgan will be joining us on Monday.

It will be great to have all of us doing it!!! So if you would like to know more about the hula craze just give us a call. If you would like to come see us perform, our first performance will be on the second Saturday in May at Weber High school, not sure of the time yet.

Been slacking on the blog

Wow have I been slacking on our blog. I hope to do better this year at keeping my friends and family updated with information and pictures. I will start off by including a few pictures from the end of the year.

Christmas Dance at Rocky

Trans Siberian Concert - 1st Anniversary went to dinner with both our parents and then we all went to the concert.

Tyler's football team were region champs again this year & runner-ups at the mini-bowl.

Christmas was wonderful for all of us this year. And the kids really showed the true meaning of the gift of giving this year. We were also very blessed in a time of need for us, someone gave us $150 in gift cards to Wal Mart, it truly helped us, and we are so thankful to whom ever it was that was so generous!

Morgan celebrated her 11th birthday, with a Tinker Bell theme, and a slumber party. We had cupcake decorating, some guitar hero, movies, pizza, and lots of laughs. Everyone had a great time.
